Monarchy or Republic?

Hello there,
Just to steer away from the pandemic for a while, let's focus on an altogether different topic such as the two most popular political and institutional models out there, and their specific manifestations in the US or France (a republic, with a Presidential government) and the UK  or Spain (a monarchy, with a Parliamentary government). Which system do you believe is the fairest? Watch the video to find out what a great American comedian thinks about it.

On the other hand, I've just had the chance to watch a fantastic series on Netflix called The Crown, which has helped me gain a deeper insight into the role of the British monarchy and the institution in modern times. Here you can find some articles and podcasts on the history of the English monarchy and the TV show. Take some time to reflect on it and then leave us your comments. Which type of government are you in favour of?

This is not a feeling but a reflexion.
We´re talking about two institutional models, monarchy and republic. For years, since man acquired his ability to think, he discovered that community life should be goberned by rules. Rules than marked different aspects of groups coexistence. Thus, the man realized that obtaining more power over the rest cuould lead and proclaim himself representative, without anyone choosing it, simply because of the power it exercises over others, whether due to fear or ignorance and so and so...
The fact is that throughout humanity, nobody could elect their rulers. Rather, these self-proclaimed leaders are by inheritance, not by choice, and with the help of religions, which spiritually marked the doctrine to ordinary people, influencing them fear if the monarchical guidelines aren´t guided. Obviously, a perfect symbiosis was fulfilled. Absolute power above all else.
However, in the wake of the French revolution and its thinkers (Voltaire, Rosseau, Diderot...), the first world social revolution took place. At last the people could elect their representations. End of monarchy.
That is why my opinion leans towards open thinking, where each of us who form a state can freely choose the people who represent us, not by chromosomal or divine inheritance.
Clearly, Monarchy is and obsolete and imposed institution. Instead, the Republic (either right or left) has been chosen by the people.

Health and Republic!

Honestly, I feel quite comfortable with the Monarchy. I agree with the opinion that no one should have privileges depending on the family to which they belong. But there are also families with certain handicaps and it is not fair that the children are judged by the problems of the parents. I see a king as the maximum representation of a country. But that's it. He will never have the power of decision. We have democratic Goverment for that. We choose the members of the Goverment attending to our beliefs or ways of thinking. And the Government is the one that has the ability to make laws. The Monarchy is above that, it is merely representative and does not obey any political trend. The monarch is formed from childhood to perform this function. And just as a prince must be trained to be a king, the person who aspires to be a deputy or minister must also be qualified in certain areas. You can always resign from a certain position if you cannot perform the designated tasks. Regardless of our personal opinions, I believe that we must be consistent with and act on our beliefs.
